Renewable Tech Specialists Heatio adds Award Winning Non-Exec to the board.

Dominic McLoughney and Thomas Farquhar of Heatio

Low Carbon & Renewable Tech specialists Heatio launched last year to innovate the domestic energy market with their Smart Home Energy System.

Further driving expansion, they have appointed Dominic McLoughney of Becketts, an award-winning wealth management and financial planning firm, to the board to support expansion throughout 2023 and beyond.

Dominic McLoughney, Co-Founder of Becketts

Dominic is a Co-Founder of Beckett's wealth management, a top 100 citywide and money marketing advice firm of the year. Becketts provides Wealth Management, financial planning and expert advice; to individuals, families, businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK. Dominic is also the personal recipient of the CISI presidents award and is one of the top 8 chartered financial planners in the UK.

Dominic joins as a non-executive director at Heatio, bringing his vast amount of experience and financial expertise to the growing team at a time when Green Finance & Sustainability are some of the fastest-growing investment areas worldwide.

Heatio is currently developing its Smart Home Energy System, which will drive the uptake of energy efficiency improvements and renewable technologies in domestic properties. Combining machine learning, smart meter data, discreet sensor technology and information modelling, the Smart Home Energy System will give consumers real data and precise costs, savings and specifications to make decisions upon. This challenges existing methods which are often invasive and inaccurate and lead to low confidence levels and inaction by consumers.

Heatio has recently bid as part of 2 consortiums under the Green Homes Finance Accelerator, which aims to unlock Green Finance Products to drive the uptake of energy efficiency measures and low-carbon technologies in domestic properties. With the poorest housing stock in Europe, the UK is on the road to Net Zero. New innovative finance products are key to unlocking this investment and removing a key barrier for consumers.

Simon Roberts, CEO of Heatio

“Heatio Managing Director Simon Roberts commented, “We are delighted to welcome Dominic to the board. As we expand the team at Heatio, we are looking to bring unique talent and next-generation leadership to the forefront of our development. Dominic brings a vast amount of these vital attributes. Dominic’s award-winning experience speaks for itself, and he will play a pivotal role in our expansion”.

Dominic McLoughney said of the appointment, “I'm thrilled to join the Heatio team and be at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing sectors. Sustainability & Green Investments are huge growth areas for investors, and in the current climate, there is no doubt this trend will continue. Removing the barriers to wide-scale deployment by unlocking new financial products is a fantastically innovative area and something I am keen to support. I'm very excited to have the opportunity to bring my expertise to the board, supporting the business in developing new investment opportunities and expanding partnerships to explore & develop new innovative green finance products.”
